    Description

A Group of Star-Club Items Featuring Pete Best (Germany, 1964). By 1964 the Star-Club was firmly established as the premiere music venue in Germany, and one of the most important in all of Europe. As the musical connection between Hamburg and Liverpool remained very strong, a number of Liverpool acts would regularly play the Star-Club, and the venue would market itself to Liverpool music fans, allowing them the opportunity to become "honorary members." Here is a Star-Club flyer from October 1964, and no fewer than four Liverpool-connected groups are listed - the Liverbirds, Gibson and the Eyes, Lee Curtis and the All-Stars, and the Pete Best Four, featuring the former Beatle on drums. (Another English group listed, The Jaguars, featured a young Dave Mason). With an original 1964 honorary member card of a Liverpool member, and a later photo of Pete Best circa 1964. The 4" x 2.5" card and 5" x 7" photo both Very Good condition, the 6" x 8.5" flyer in Good condition, with some creases and foxing throughout. From the Uwe Blaschke Beatles Collection.
