Description

Josephine Baker Owned and Worn Dress and Boots (Circa 1970). Beautiful custom-made, cream-colored, longsleeved floor-length dress stunningly trimmed with copious amounts of different colored stones, beads, gold sequins, and gold thread. No label present, measures approximately 15" from shoulder to shoulder, with 26" sleeves. Also includes a pair of cream leather boots from Capobianco decorated in the same manner, no size present. Both items worn as a magnificent ensemble by late entertainer and activist Josephine Baker. According to the consignor, the outfit was previously sold by Christie's Paris. Dress in Very Good condition, with some fraying and wear to the gold thread, considerable thread pulling at the lower half, and soiling - primarily to the bottom part of the dress. Boots in Good condition, with extensive soiling and scuffing throughout, and tape residue on the heel of the left boot.
