    Jazz - Fifty One Unpublished Color Stereoscopic Slides of Louis Armstrong, Earl Hines, Velma Middleton and Others Performing (1949-1964). Original glass slides, most with "Character Arts / Cleveland, Ohio" paper label with typed details of the artists, venue, and date. Three slides are from the Boat Show in Cleveland, 1964, and feature Louis Armstrong, and Chief Moore; two are slides of Louis and associates at a dinner table, labeled "Louie at Studio / May 1, 1949"; one slide shows Louis standing for a photo with two women, labeled "Louie & Models / Studio / May 1, 1949"; eleven slides show Louis with Timmie Rogers, Jack Teagarden, and others on stage and backstage from 1949-1959. Other artists featured: Velma Middleton, Barny Bigard, Earl Hines, and Ray Baudic. All slides measure approximately 4" x 1.75". Generally the slides are in Very Good Plus to Excellent condition, with some loss to trim on sides and discoloration to labels. Images are in Excellent condition.
