Yes Drummer Alan White's Chimes (Early 1980s). As a member of John Lennon's Plastic Ono Band, Alan White rose from the relative obscurity of drumming for the Alan Price Set, to making Experimental Rock magic with certified Rock and Roll royalty. Post-Ono, White was on tour with gravel-throated singer Joe Cocker in 1972 when he was invited to join Progressive Rock giants Yes. He accepted, replacing departing drummer Bill Bruford. White, while making appearances with numerous other acts, has been with Yes ever since, exhibiting his percussive mastery on monumental albums Yessongs, Relayer, the absolute smash 90125 (featuring the mega-hit "Owner of a Lonely Heart"), and many more. These chimes, mounted with a note of provenance to a velveteen-covered backing board, were a part of Alan White's vibes tree from his rehearsal kit used at Clair Brothers Studios, where Yes was known to rehearse in the early 80s. Including the mounting board, the piece measures 24.5" x 39.5". The chimes show heavy wear and verdigris, with rusting on the mounting bracket. Includes Letter of Provenance from Thomas Grosh.
