Johnny Cash Owned and Stage-Played Grammer Signature Prototype Acoustic Guitar. A stunning guitar, with an amazing story. A true treasure for the Johnny Cash fan/collector. This 1966-67 acoustic guitar was made for Johnny Cash by the Grammer Guitar Company before the company was acquired by Ampeg in 1968. The guitar was created by famed luthier J. W. Gower, and includes workmanship and features that only Gower could have produced, during his tenure at Grammer.
The guitar was originally acquired by guitar collector Roger Binette, from Johnny Cash, in the mid-1990s. Binette, knew that Mr. Cash was staying at his Old Hickory Lake cabin, in Tennessee, and rented a boat. Motoring over to Mr. Cash's private boat dock, Binette was met by an armed security guard and was told to leave -- that the dock was private property. Roger then proceeded to pull out a sack filled with $25,000, handed it to the guard and said "Tell Mr. Cash I want to buy some of his guitars he is not using anymore." The security guard asked him to wait and went up to the house. He soon returned with four guitars, a few broken. The guard then said "Mr. Cash says than you."
Mr. Cash owned several of these guitars, as did members of his family, but this is the only one known to have a Brazilian rosewood back and sides with a spruce top. The fingerboard inlay is produced in the same style as guitars owned by Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, and Porter Wagoner, and the binding along the neck is a Grammer hallmark.
In Excellent restored condition, with a repaired neck (around the tuning keys), repaired cracks in the top, and dents on the back. The fingerboard inlays, that had been removed at one time, have been replaced. Restoration was done by J. P. Moats, formerly of Gibson Guitars.
Includes a notarized, laminated letter of authenticity from Kenneth Allen and a letter of authenticity and appraisal from Rod Norwood of Rod's Guitars. A gorgeous SKB hardcase is also included.

The movie quite literally changed my life. I have included a pic of me in Sly's Rocky 3 Cashmere overcoat, would much appreciate if it is possible for you to forward this email to Sly to let him know the overcoat is in good hands, and will be well taken care of, (as will be the Rambo knife forging tools, the other lot I won!) Wish you very happy holidays and a great 2016!
