    Description

Everly Brothers Terry Slater Stage Played Bass With Original Hardcase (Gibson, c. 1963). A circa 1963 Cherry Red Gibson EB3 bass, given by Chet Atkins (who originally purchased the bass) to Terry Slater, guitarist and/or bass player with such musical royalty as Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Duane Eddy, Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, The Rolling Stones, Gene Vincent, Ray Charles, and more. Terry used this bass on every single recording that he ever did with the Everly Brothers. He also played the bass for Eric Burden (The Animals) and Glen Campbell, and as the story goes, they would all trade off instruments during their jam sessions, so this bass has been played by many famous people. When Terry stopped playing for the Everly's, he put the bass up, and it has been in storage ever since, until he graciously let us place it in this auction for you to bid on. The bass comes in its original case (one latch is missing), with normal wear for a touring bass case. The guitar is in very nice shape for a well used professional instrument. There are a few small dings and scratches on the neck and the body, some chrome loss from finger wear on the neck pickup, and oxidization on the bridge pickup; otherwise in Excellent condition. A true piece of Rock and Roll history!
