DescriptionEddie Cochran Signature Model Gretsch G6120EC Hollow Body Electric Guitar, Serial #JT 10120005. Made in Japan in 2010, this exquisite guitar was recreated in the style of Rockabilly legend Eddie Cochran's modified Gretsch hollow body electric. Only the fifth instrument made in the entire line (serial numbers ending in 0001 through 0100 are reserved for special one-off guitars, samples, or prototypes), this guitar features a western maple stain finish, three-ply arched maple top, back, and sides with double-bound F-holes, a two-piece maple neck, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with western-themed fence, longhorn, and cactus pearloid inlays, single-ply headstock binding, translucent acrylic pickguard with Gretsch logo, three control knobs, aluminum bridge with rosewood base, DynaSonic single-coil bridge pickup, Lindy Fralin single-coil neck pickup, Bigsby tailpiece, gold-plated Grover tuners, and gold/aluminum hardware. Includes original Gretsch hardshell case with key and nut-wrench.
Also included with the guitar is a vintage leather guitar strap, beautifully tooled with Cochran's name and a floral pattern. Stamped "Handcrafted by Edward L. Julson" on the reverse, it's unknown whether this strap was owned and used by Cochran, but the aging and softness of the leather, along with the fact that this strap came from the family of Eddie's former fiance and songwriter Sharon Sheeley suggest it very well could have been. From the Sharon Sheeley Collection of Eddie Cochran Memorabilia.
