    Description

Elvis Presley - Original Medical Bag Tools of Dr. Hunt, Presley's Obstetrician. On January 8, 1935, just before dawn, Dr. William Robert Hunt delivered Elvis Aaron Presley 35 minutes after the delivery of his stillborn twin brother, Jesse Garon. Dr. Hunt died in 1952, never realizing he delivered the singer who was to become the world's biggest star. This medical bag, directly from Dr. Hunt's great-grandson, spanned his entire career including that historic morning. It contains a leather tool pouch with his scalpels, clamps, probes, etc., and eight empty glass vials to hold common drugs of the '30s, with their original labels from Tupelo's drugstore Thomas-Kincannon-Elkin Co. Also included is a small pouch for additional glass vials and the original metal and glass nameplate from Dr. Hunt's office door. (Please note, the metal tools display moderate amounts of rust due to age and the bag's metal frame with handle and upper lock is detached.)
    Bag 10.75" x 5" x 3.5", utensil pouch 5.5" x 3.25" (closed), name plate 9.25" x 3"
