Description

Presley's Center Courts Original Business Cards (Three) for Elvis Presley (Chairman of the Board), Dr. George Nichopoulos (President), and Joseph Esposito (Vice President) (1976) Three colorful, unused business cards. each with a gold-stamped "TCB" emblem at upper right. These were created for a short-lived business venture in which Elvis partnered with the above two men (and Mike McMahon) to open a chain of racquetball & handball courts with the first location planned for Memphis. The bank placed a charge against Graceland to secure construction costs and, by the time Elvis and Col. Tom realized how much money this was costing him, $4 million had been spent. Elvis attempted to pull out but was sued by his partners for breach of contract. He reportedly had to pay off $1.5 million to clear his title to Graceland. The Memphis Center Courts apparently did open briefly but was not successful and soon closed. These business cards were originally from the collection of Dr. Nichopoulos and come with a handwritten LOA from his daughter, Elaine.
