Buddy Holly 1957-58 Tour Itinerary and Statement of Grosses and Commissions Display Group (1958). Two fascinating documents highlight these two displays. One chronicles tour grosses and the Crickets' commissions for the period August 1957 (about the time the group had its breakthrough and biggest hit "That'll Be the Day") through July 1958, detailing appearances at such famous venues as the Apollo Theatre, on TV shows such as The Ed Sullivan Show, and touring with Alan Freed. The second display features an original copy of correspondence to the Crickets and to other acts touring together during October 1958. What a lineup! Besides the Crickets, there were Frankie Avalon, Dion and the Belmonts, Bobby Darin, Clyde McPhatter, the Coasters, and others. Copies of letters are included from noted Buddy Holly historian Bill Griggs who received both display documents from the Estate of Norman Petty circa 1993. Requires third party shipping.
