    Description

Dinah Washington "Queen of Song" 1960 Jumbo Chicago Concert Poster. An original cardboard window card advertising the great Dinah Washington in concert for a full week at Chicago's famed Regal Theatre commencing on Friday, March 11, 1960. Ms. Washington was accomplished in the fields of jazz, blues, R&B and pop music, and is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Dinah had the #1 R&B hit in the country right now with "Baby (You've Got What It Takes)," a duet with Brook Benton which stayed at #1 for two and a half months. The previous summer she had accomplished her second most recognizable hit, "What a Difference a Day Makes," which hit the Top 10 in both pop and R&B. Measures 22 18" x 28 1/4" and grades to Near Mint Minus condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: Second-billed Billy Williams had reached the Top 10 of Billboard's R&B singles chart in 1957 with "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter."

Condition details: Poster has only a couple of bumps to the top two corners, creating a very mild one-inch crease in the upper left one; some surface dirt marks in the white at the end of "Washington" and "Williams"; and a couple of very benign surface creases to the left of "Skip" and along the top edge of a few letters in "Henderson."
