    Description

David Bowie Small Lock of Hair (Circa 1974). A snippet of the late icon's red hair, in a small 2.75" x 2" clear-topped box, atop a David Bowie concert ticket stub. Also includes a letter of provenance from The Neat Peters Collection, which states "We were social friends with [head of Bowie's wardrobe and makeup department] Jac Colello for about 2 years before he started working for Bowie. Neal Peters was the head of Bowie's first American Fan Club, hired by Mainman. When Jac was out on the 'Diamond Dogs' Tour...he dyed Bowie's hair a darker red and gave him a haircut, collecting the locks rather than letting them fall to the floor. Shortly after returning from the tour Jac got in touch with us and said he had a surprise. He showed up with a lovely box and inside was the smaller plastic box containing the hair and ticket stub from the night of the haircut." An incredible artifact from an early era of Bowie's mainstream fame. Hair length: approximately 2"; outer box: 4" x 3" x 1.75".
