DescriptionLinda Thompson Fur Cape Worn During Her Visits To See Elvis Presley In Hospital (1975). Dusty pink suede, waist-length, trimmed in white fox fur, lined in rose-colored satin, label reads "Helen of Memphis;" worn by Thompson on February 12, 1975 when she went to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee to visit Elvis in his recovery room; that day, a number of press photographers were outside the hospital so numerous color images of Thompson wearing this cape can be seen on the Internet. COA from Linda Thompson.
Excerpt from Linda Thompson's COA: "Every time Elvis was hospitalized, I accompanied him at Baptist Hospital, staying with him in my own hospital bed adjacent to his, 24 hours a day, seven days a week -even though I was perfectly healthy. During one of his stays my beloved grandmother fell ill and eventually died at Methodist Hospital. There are multiple photos of me wearing this cape going back-and-forth between Baptist Hospital caring for Elvis, and going to see my grandmother at Methodist Hospital. Elvis wanted me to look pretty, knowing there would be photographers waiting to catch photos of me leaving him in the hospital for a few hours. Elvis's first cousin Bobbi gave me this cape. "
