    Description

Jimi Hendrix Black Leather Biker's Jacket (Circa 1969). Traditional cut, white leather trim at shoulders and on the three front zip pockets, snap-down collar, small snap-down front pocket, front zip closure, zippers at cuffs, back with nine silver-tone studs at waist, added rabbit's feet at either shoulder, Jackie Robinson commemorative lapel pin affixed to right cuff, rhinestone-encrusted safety pin affixed to left cuff, lined in quilted black nylon, label reads "Styled by / Cooper / Sportswear Mfg. Co., Inc. / Newark, N.J. / Genuine Steerhide;" formerly from the collection of Matthew "Mike" Quashie, the well-known 1960s 'Limbo King' performer from Trinidad who befriended Hendrix and who let the musician crash at his apartment in Greenwich Village where Hendrix left many of his possessions shortly before his last trip to London, including this jacket; included is a 1997 notarized LOA signed by Mike Quashie about this jacket and a copy of a New York Times newspaper article about him. (Please note the jacket is in heavily worn condition and was likely already a 'vintage' article of clothing when Hendrix was wearing it in the 1960s.)
