Elvis Presley Owned and Worn Omega Watch (Omega, c. 1958). Tales of Elvis' generosity surface over and over. This story comes from one of Elvis' closest friends, one he met first in Memphis during the late 1950s, reacquainted with in Germany during their coinciding ARMY stints, and lasted until Elvis' death in 1977. In Hodge's words (provided in an accompanying letter), "It was 1958 or 1959 and Elvis had a beautiful black Omega Constellation watch with a black dial with a 18kt gold pink rose trim that was really beautiful." and "Several times I told Elvis how beautiful his watch was and I said one of these days I'm going to make enough money to buy one of those. Well, that's all it took. Elvis said, 'Charlie, you don't have to wait any longer' and he took it off his wrist and gave it to me."
