    Elvis Presley Owned and Worn Army Wool Field Shirt and Trousers (Germany, Circa 1960). A size Medium heavy wool-blend six-button shirt with two breast pockets with flaps and buttons. Above the right flap is his "PRESLEY" embroidered name tape, and above the left is the "U.S. ARMY" branch tape. On the left shoulder is the sleeve insignia for the 3rd Armored Division ("Spearhead") with sergeant stripes below; sergeant stripes are also on the right shoulder. The trousers are size Long Small, in a five pocket style, with adjustment straps at the waist. Condition: A minuscule amount of mothing, otherwise Fine. LOA from Patsy Presley.
    Presley reached his post in Germany in October 1958 and was promoted to sergeant in January 1960 shortly before shipping out. He arrived home on March 3, 1960, to a cheering crowd of fans and record company executives. He was discharged two days later. There are photos of him wearing this field shirt under his jacket in the book Like Any Other Soldier by Jerry Osbourne and Barbara Hahn.
