Description

Beatles - Paul McCartney Stage Worn Shirt (1973). A short-sleeved knit sweater with a mostly blue body with black, grey and metallic-silver yolk and cuffs, featuring an embroidered black grey and silver patch of the Wings "W" logo affixed to the chest. The label reads "The Ritva Man / Made in England / 100% Cotton", no size noted.

The Ritva Man was a creation of the husband and wife team of Ritva and Mike Ross. They began to make unique, boutique-quality sweaters in 1969. Their creations and collaborations with artists such as David Hockney led to commissions for the Rolling Stones, Simon and Garfunkel, the Doobie Brothers and Stanley Kubrick. Paul McCartney wore this limited edition sweater on stage during Wings 1973 UK tour. A letter from McCartney's manager of the time accompanies the lot. In fine condition, with a minuscule spot of dark staining beneath the Wings logo.
