    A James Brown Fancy Suit, 1966. Eggplant-colored wool; the jacket with rounded lapels trimmed in purple velvet, single-breasted, one welt pocket on upper left side trimmed in same purple velvet, label reads "James Brown / 11-15-66 / No. 179," further tags note "JB" and "Caldwell's / Exclusive / Sport Shop / Houston;" with matching purple velvet vest, backing made of maroon satin, double-breasted (four buttons are missing), only remnant of label evident; with further matching straight-leg pants (two identical pairs), flat front, fly and waistband trimmed in same purple velvet; likely worn onstage by the singer. (Please note there are moth holes and staining on the jacket; the vest has a 2" tear in the right armpit but can be repaired.)
