Bob Dylan Concert Handbill (1963). Harry Leventhal presents Bob Dylan...123 W. 43rd St [New York], Fri. Eve., April 12 1963 at 8.30p.m. The handbill shows a three-quarter length black and white image of Dylan with acoustic guitar and harmonica, and quotes various rave reviews including "...the most exciting, most potentially great new city Folksinger in recent years. He is absolutely unique..." - Little Sandy Review and "One of the most compelling blues singers ever recorded" - BBC Radio Times. Measures 7.75" x 10". In Very Good Plus condition, with corners slightly rubbed, some minor creasing to image, very small brown spot to center of top edge. Back shows remnants of black paper and adhesive to top corners from previously having being mounted or stuck in an album.

This is a very important handbill for what's considered Bob Dylan's first major live performance and a pivotal moment in the singer's career. The show took place only a month before the release of Dylan's breakthrough second album The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, simply described by Rolling Stone as "...his first genuine masterpiece". Around 900 people attended the concert, which, in fact was not sold out! Dylan performed twenty four songs, some of which were previously unheard by the public in any form.
