Beatles - Paul McCartney Signed Letter to an Early Fan (Liverpool, 1963). An 8" x 10" typed missive, one page, no date (the accompanying envelope is postmarked April 21, 1963), signed at the close in blue ballpoint: "love Paul McCartney/ xxx". It reads, in part: "Dear Mary, Thanks for writing, it was great to hear from you. Our L.P. was released on 20th March, which is a long time after you wrote isn't it? I'm sorry it's been so long, but you'll understand how busy we are. I'm afraid I've got no photos at present, but why not write to the fan club? ... Thanks again for the compliments and things, Cheerio, Good Luck". The album her references is Please Please Me, their first. The address typed at the top of the page, "20 Forthlin Rd./ Allerton,/ Liverpool 18." is the family home where Paul lived from 1955, a house now touted by the National Trust as "the birthplace of the Beatles." The envelope is addressed to a Mary Bradbury in Leeds, Yorkshire, and postmarked Huyton, Liverpool. For reference, this letter was signed at about the time that Paul first met Jane Asher. The letter is Very Good with folds, toning, and light wear. The envelope is tattered with tape stains all around. COA from Heritage Auctions.
