Beatles - Max Scheler and Astrid Kirchherr Signed Liverpool Days and Golden Dreams Deluxe Limited Edition (2500) Genesis Books (UK, 1994 and 1996). Two gorgeous books in matching 10" x 11" cloth bindings and slipcases, each signed by Scheler and Kirchherr on the limitation pages. Liverpool Days (#1186) features an inset photo of Ringo on the cover. Golden Dreams (not numbered) features an inset photo of the group on the cover. The photographs in these books originated in 1964 when the Beatles' friend from Hamburg (also Stuart Sutcliffe's fiance) Astrid Kirchherr and Max Scheler traveled to London to photograph the Beatles. The assignment was to shoot the group on the set of A Hard Day's Night and in their London homes. From there the pair traveled to Liverpool to photograph the Fabs' haunts, other Liverpool groups, and to document lunchtime sessions at The Cavern Club. The results are entertaining and enlightening for any fan. The now world-famous group had certainly come a long way since Astrid first met them in Hamburg in 1960. "These photos were taken in the spring of 1964. It's a time that will always belong to The Beatles. No other journalists were allowed near them at that time. They were so busy that Brian Epstein had ruled that they should not be bothered by the press. So Max and I were very lucky: they were good to Max and they treated me as they always had, like an old friend." (Astrid Kirchherr). Excellent condition. From the Uwe Blaschke Beatles Collection.
