    Description

Beatles - George Harrison Typed Letter Signed in Matted Display (Amsterdam, February 3, 1977). A one page letter on plain 8.25" x 11.625" stationery, addressed to Robert Feltes who was a WEA (Warner-Elektra-Atlantic) promotional person in Germany. It reads, in full: "Dear Mr. Feltes. I would like to take my visit to Germany as an opportunity, to thank you very much for the enthusiasm, you have shown for my new LP '33 1/3'. I hope, that the promotion-activities, I have done during these two days, will also show positive results in your work. For the future all the best and great success. With kindest personal regards". Signed at close in blue ink: "George Harrison". Double matted to an overall 19.5" x 15.75 with a 6.25" x 9" (sight size) glossy B&W photo of George taken at a German press conference the very week this letter was written. This letter is reproduced in full on page 167 of the German language book Rock Show: die (Ex-)Beatles in Deutschland 1971 - 1980 by Axel Korinth (2011). The letter exhibits some minor wear and paper damage not affecting the signature or text, Fine. From the Uwe Blaschke Beatles Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.

Thirty Three & 1/3 was George Harrison's seventh studio album and was released on November 19, 1976, in the UK (five days later in the US). It was Harrison's first personal release on his own record label, Dark Horse, and was recorded at his Friar Park home. The album was well-received by critics and fans and Harrison set out on major promotional tours to support it even to the point making videos, doing interviews, and performing on Saturday Night Live just before its US release. He moved on to Europe and did several promo stops in Germany with WEA exec Robert Feltes on February 1st and 2nd before heading to Holland. The odd punctuation and somewhat stilted phrasing leads us to believe that this letter was dictated to a secretary who was not fluent in English during his next stop on the promotional tour which was Amsterdam.

The movie quite literally changed my life. I have included a pic of me in Sly's Rocky 3 Cashmere overcoat, would much appreciate if it is possible for you to forward this email to Sly to let him know the overcoat is in good hands, and will be well taken care of, (as will be the Rambo knife forging tools, the other lot I won!) Wish you very happy holidays and a great 2016!
