    Description

Beatles Apple Records Press Kit with 45 Singles, Bios and Photos. (Apple, 1968). Essentially the United States counterpart to the Our First Four promotional package, this extremely collectible set was used to introduce Apple records to the US. It was mailed to radio DJ's and music journalists, is immensely unique and has become highly sought after. It's comprised of the following four 45 singles: the Beatles' "Hey Jude"/ "Revolution" (Apple 2276, 1968); Jackie Lomax's "Sour Milk Sea"/ "The Eagle Laughs At You" (Apple 1802, 1968); Mary Hopkin's "Those Were The Days"/ "Turn, Turn, Turn" (Apple 1801, 1968); and John Foster & Sons LTD. Black Dyke Mills Band's "Thingumybob"/ "Yellow Submarine" (Apple 1800, 1968). Each record is matched with an 8" x 10" black and white glossy photo of the corresponding artist (humorously, the Beatles photo is a depiction of the band as they appeared in Yellow Submarine - as cartoons!), four booklets giving background on each artist, four editorial pages from English publicist Derek Taylor, giving his thoughts on each release, as well as a 9.25" x 11.5" portfolio to hold the set original envelope. All ephemera in Fine condition, with little wear. As for the discs: EX 7.5 ("Hey Jude"); EX 7 ("Thingumybob"); NM 8 ("Those Were"); NM 8 ("Sour Milk Sea"). The black sleeves are worn, there is toning to most things, and some soiling on the folder. A particularly nice example of this quite sought after press package. From the Connie and Dennis Dailey Monumental Beatles Collection.
