Whitney Houston CRIA (Canadian) Quadruple Platinum Sales Award for Whitney, 1987. The plaque beneath the four discs is inscribed "Presented to Whitney Houston to commemorate the sale of over 400,000 units of the Arista Album 'Whitney' August 1987". Frame measures 28" x 34". In Excellent condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the Estate of Whitney E. Houston.Whitney was her second album and the one that catapulted her to international fame. The first four singles released from it- "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)," "Didn't We Almost Have It All," "So Emotional," and "Where Do Broken Hearts Go"- all hit Number One, making her the first female artist to accomplish that. The album received three Grammy nominations and she won in the Best Pop Vocal Performance category for "I Wanna Dance with Somebody..." It was eventually CRIA certified as 7x Platinum. The Canadian Recording Industry Association is now named Music Canada and serves essentially the same purpose as the RIAA in the US.
