Description

The Youngbloods "Get Together" RIAA Gold Record Award (1967). This legendary call for peace and brotherhood was originally recorded by the Kingston Trio in 1964 and covered by many artists. The Youngbloods' version was first released in 1967 and was a minor hit. Its use in a public service announcement by the National Conference of Christians and Jews caused the label to re-release it in 1969 when it reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. According to the plaque beneath the gold disc, this award was "Presented to The Youngbloods to Commemorate the Sale of More Than One Million Copies of the RCA Records Pop Single Record 'Get Together'". Awards presented to the recording artists themselves are seldom offered and are very desirable. Framed to an overall 13.25" x 17.25". (Please note this piece has been cleaned and re-sealed with new backing.) Requires Third Party Shipping.
