The Beatles "A Hard Day's Night" RIAA Gold Single Award. Presented to the Beatles to commemorate the sale of more than one million copies of the 1964 single, from the movie soundtrack of the same name. The song topped the charts in both the UK and US (where it claimed the #1 spot for two weeks), building on the phenomenal success the group had already enjoyed in the early months of 1964.
The title originated from a malapropism on the part of Ringo Starr. As he described it during an interview in 1964: "We went to do a job, and we'd worked all day and we happened to work all night. I came up still thinking it was day I suppose, and I said, 'It's been a hard day... and I looked around and saw it was dark so I said, '...night!' So we came to 'A Hard Day's Night.'
The award measures 12.75" x 16.75" and is in Very Fine to Excellent condition with some minor wear to the frame. Requires third party shipping.
