DescriptionSly & the Family Stone "Family Affair" RIAA White Mat Gold Record Sales Award (Epic 5-10805, 1971). According to the plaque beneath the gold disc, this award was presented to saxophonist of the Family Stone, Jerry Martini, in commemoration of the "Sale of More Than One Million Copies of the Epic Records Pop Single Record 'Family Affair'". Framed with a white mat to an overall 13" x 17". In Fine condition, with some light wear to the label of the gold disc. From the David Gest Memorabilia Archive.
Martini served as the saxophone player for Sly & the Family Stone from the inception of the Funk/Soul/Rock juggernaut until its demise in 1975. He went on to appear on Sly Stone's first solo album, and is active to this day.
