Santana Festival RIAA Gold Record Sales Award Presented to Jose "Chepito" Areas (Columbia 34423, 1976). Santana's eighth studio album, Festival charted on both the Billboard 200 and R&B Albums charts, at numbers 27 and 29, respectively. According to the plaque beneath the gold disc, this award was presented to Santana percussionist Jose "Chepito" Areas to "Commemorate the Sale of More Than 500,000 Copies of the Columbia Records Long-Playing Record Album 'Festival'". Framed in an antique gold finish to approximately 17" x 21". In Very Good condition, with some scratching and wear to the frame and the acrylic glass covering, and some tape repair to extensive tearing around the edges of the brown paper on the verso.
