    Elton John Too Low For Zero RIAA Gold Record Sales Award (Geffen GHS 4006, 1983). For the first time in several years, every song on this hit album was an Elton John/ Bernie Taupin collaboration. It generated two huge hit singles- "I Guess That's Why They Call it the Blues" and "I'm Still Standing." According to the plaque beneath the gold disc, this award was "Presented to Rod Dyer to Commemorate Sale of More Than 500,000 Copies of the Geffen Records Long-Playing Record Album 'Too Low For Zero'". Framed in an antique gold finish to an overall 17" x 21". Some scrapes to the frame and glass, Fine condition.

    Included with this lot is a signed Letter of Authenticity from Rod Dyer; it reads, in part: "I designed the album cover for Elton John. His songwriting partner/ lyricist Bernie Taupin came to me to work on the album cover design. I presented a number of ideas represented an abstract concept to represent the words 'Too Low For Zero'."
