    Description

    Clarence Carter "Patches" RIAA White Mat Gold Record Sales Award (Atlantic 45-2748, 1970). Written by their lead singer and recorded by the Chairman of the Board for their first album, it was Clarence Carter who had the smash hit with his version, recorded at Muscle Shoals' Fame Studios. According to the plaque beneath the gold disc, this award was "Presented to Steve Taylor to Commemorate the Sale of More Than One Million Copies of the Atlantic Records Pop Single Record 'Patches'". Framed in gold-trimmed walnut to an overall 13" x 17". Excellent condition. From the David Gest Memorabilia Archive.
