Billy Joel The Stranger RIAA Gold Sales Award Presented to Engineer Jim Boyer. A gold sales award for Billy Joel's The Stranger LP, which garnered major sales thanks to the handful of singles that became calling cards of his career: the title track, "Just the Way You Are," "Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)," "Only the Good Die Young," and "She's Always a Woman." This award was presented to the album engineer, who worked with Phil Ramone. (Ramone would be as important to Joel's career as George Martin was to the Beatles.) According to the plaque the bottom right area, "Presented To / Jim Boyer / To Commemorate the Sale of More Than / 500,000 Copies of the / Columbia Records / Long-Playing Record Album / 'The Stranger'." Measures 16 ¾" x 20 ¾". In Very Good Plus condition with wrinkling on the disc's label, scratches and scrapes on the frame, and wear on the mini record album cover.
