Description

Big Bopper Achievement Awards (1958-60). The former Beaumont, TX deejay received these three awards from Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) for the most popular of his penned tunes: "Chantilly Lace", "White Lightning" (a hit for George Jones), and "Running Bear" (Johnny Preston), the citations for the latter two coming posthumously after the Bopper was tragically lost in the plane crash that also took the lives of Buddy Holly and Richie Valens. Each has been framed to 13" x 17" and in Fine condition with some signs of age wear and a few dings in the wooden frames. Originally offered by the Bopper's son, who has signed each display on the glass.
