Beatles Abbey Road RIAA Gold Record Sales Award (Apple / Capitol SJ-383, 1969). The last Beatles album to be recorded (although Let It Be was the last to be released), Abbey Road was a fitting swan song for the group, following the conceptual vein of Sgt. Pepper, but with stronger, more Rock-oriented compositions such as "Here Comes the Sun," "Come Together," "Carry That Weight," and George Harrison's outstanding ballad "Something." Abbey Road topped the U. S. album charts for 11 weeks and remained in the Top 40 for 32 weeks. This award was presented to Capitol Records in commemoration of over a half-million copies sold. Framed in an antique gold finish to 17" x 21". Fine condition, with some wear to the frame.
