Beatles '65 RIAA Platinum Album Award (Capitol ST-2228, 1964). Beatles '65 was released on December 15, 1964 and was the fourth album of Beatles music to come out in the United States that year. By year's end, the album had sold nearly two million copies. In the early-mid 1960s, America's appetite for anything related to the Fab Four was endless, especially for those quality albums! According to the plague below the platinum disc and cassette, this award was "Presented to Gary Benson to Commemorate the Sale of More Than 1,000,000 Copies of the Capitol Records, Inc. Album and Cassette 'Beatles '65'". Measures an overall 17" x 21", and in Very Good condition, with plastic peeling from the frame, the frame's backing peeling at the lower-left corner, and a chip ay each top corner of the frame's plastic.Auction Info
