"Don't Be Cruel" Gold Record Award to Colonel Tom Parker (RCA House Award, 1956). Any discussion of the greatest singles Elvis ever recorded has to include "Don't Be Cruel" on the short list. That's quite a statement considering Presley's had over 150 charting singles since 1955, including 18 that went all the way to the top. The two-sided monster disc combo of "Don't Be Cruel" and "Hound Dog" ruled Billboard's Pop Singles chart for 11 weeks, selling over 4,000,000 copies in the process. This RCA house award was given to Elvis' manager, Colonel Tom Parker, "In Appreciation of His Contribution Toward Making 'Don't Be Cruel' a Million Seller, 1956." The gold record shows some aging, with the thin gold veneer fading to silver except around the edges of the disc. COA from the Estate of Elvis Presley at Graceland.
