Vernon Presley's 1930 Address Book. This 2" x 3" leather book, with the title "Addresses" in gilt on the front cover, was owned and used by Elvis Presley's father, Vernon. The front and back endleaves include the calendars for 1930 and 1931, respectively. The 36 pages marked "addresses" (an additional sheet was torn out at some point) include the pencil notation "Property of Vernon Presley" (first page) and nine other entries. The 44 pages marked "memorandum" feature four pencil and ink entries, including one marking the birth of his identical twin sons -- "Elvis - Jesse/1-8-35" (Jesse was stillborn); another noting "Gladys' Birthday/4-25-12"; and the final notation "Mr. Vernon Presley/Mrs. Gladys Presley (Smith)". A unique piece of Presleyana, the book is in Near Fine condition, with some wear and minor nicks in the leather on the spine and back cover. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Elvis' cousin, Jerry Presley.
