Description
Tupac Shakur & Thug Life Signed Interscope Records 58 Page Contract (1994). An extensive 58-page 8.5" x 11" contract with Interscope Records, dated July 24, 1994, signing Tupac and his group Thug Life to the label, and detailing the recording, advances, marketing, and royalties for the group's album Thug Life: Volume 1. Signed on page 52 by Shakur in black ballpoint ink. Also signed by Thug Life members Big Syke (Tyruss Grimes, lending his signature in blue ballpoint), Mopreme Shakur (Maurice Williams, black ballpoint ink), Macadoshis (Diron Rivers, blue ballpoint ink), and Rated R (Walter Burns, black ballpoint ink). 51 of the 58 pages appear to be photocopies of the original document, but the signature page is original, with staple holes at the upper-left corner. Fine condition, with minor wear throughout. Includes an 8.5" x 11" glossy color photo of Tupac. COAs from Heritage Auctions and PSA/DNA.Originally set to be released on Shakur's own Out Da Gutta label, Thug Life: Volume 1 was a success for Interscope, as 2Pac was at the time one of the hottest names in not only Rap and Hip Hop, but entertainment, period. The album went gold, but the group disbanded after Tupac's murder in 1996. He remains one of the most legendary rappers in Hip Hop history. Big Syke passed on December 5, 2016 in his home from natural causes - just over 20 years after Tupac's untimely death.
