The Beatles/John Lennon Autographed Paper (4" x 6") in Mat With Iconic Photo of John Taken by Bob Gruen. Imagine walking through Central Park in New York and running into John Lennon? That's what happened with this rare signature from the Beatle himself. This signature was obtained by a girl who was lucky enough to see John and ask for his autograph in 1975, and he gladly obliged.

Upon meeting Lennon, the woman grabbed a 9" by 6" piece of notepaper, tore it in half, and gave both pieces to John Lennon to sign; one piece for her, and another to be given to her sister once she got home. Both Lennon signatures were signed in blue ballpoint pen. The John Lennon autograph being offered here is for the 4" by 6" signed piece of that notepaper. (The OTHER half, also with John Lennon signature, is being offered in Lot #: 89227)

John Lennon enjoyed many walks through Central Park while living at the Dakota between 1973-1980, citing the Little River Band's 1978 hit tune "Reminiscing" (with the lyrics: "We'll go dancing in the dark, walking through the park, and reminiscing") as one his all-time favorite songs... so much so that he had the 45 single included in his jukebox player at the Dakota.

Signed in ball point pen on paper measuring 4" by 6" (the mat exposes approx: 1.5" by 3 1/4" of the notepaper).
The paper is starting to yellow due to age but autograph is clear and sharp in Very Good Plus condition. Classic photo from Bob Gruen measuring in mat approx: 8" by 10". The photo was taken in 1974. John had been at the record plant that morning mixing his next album Walls and Bridges. Bob Gruen had purchased the t-shirt on the sidewalk for $5.00 and asked John to put it on. He cut the sleeves off for a tougher looking effect, John agreed. Overall mat measuring approx: 14" by 18". Mat and photo in Near Mint condition. Great piece Indeed. LOA from renowned Beatles Autograph Expert Frank Caiazzo, LOA from Beatles Authority Gary M. Hein of Hein's Rare Collectibles, and COA from Heritage Auctions.
