The Beach Boys Signed Hobie Full-Size Longboard/Surfboard Made for The Smile Sessions Reissue Promotional Campaign (2011). "Catch a wave and you're sitting on top of the world"

Penned by Brian Wilson and Mike Love, the second cut on the Beach Boys' third album Surfer Girl has resonated for decades. Taking the rock n' roll stylings of Chuck Berry and his contemporaries, the Wilson brothers, Mike Love, David Marks, and Al Jardine redirected that sound to be specific to sounds of coastal life. Surfing, cars, girls, and the sun - all elements that made the world fall in love with the Beach Boys. Even though most of the band didn't surf (only Dennis Wilson surfed), they captured a vibe of fun and peace living in an endless summer.

Offered here is a full-sized longboard (made by the renowned and beloved Hobie) - and it's a perfect addition to any Beach Boys collector.

This is an unused, blue-colored, full-size longboard signed with a black felt tip by Mike Love, Brian Wilson, Al Jardine, and Bruce Johnston.

This board was made in promotion for the deluxe reissue of The Smile Sessions in 2011. Considered a lost gem for decades, this reissue compiled as much material recorded for the Pet Sounds follow-up, Smile. (Brian Wilson released a newly-recorded, completed version of Smile back in 2004.)

This was gifted to longtime Wilson touring member (with and without the Beach Boys), Jeffrey Foskett. Measures over 9 feet in length and in unused Near Mint condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.
