Description

Stevie Ray Vaughan Signed Guitar, also Signed by Eric Clapton, Jimmie Vaughan, Buddy Guy, and Robert Cray (His Fellow Performers at the 1990 Alpine Valley Concerts). A vintage white finish Squier II Stratocaster by Fender, Serial Number E958848. It has been signed by five of the finest guitarists of our (or any other) time. Unless noted, all signatures are in black felt tip. Details of each signing as follows:
Stevie Ray Vaughan (has added "'89"): Signed on the lower bass bout on May 21, 1989, at Redwood Amphitheater in Santa Clara (San Francisco), California.
Eric Clapton (has added "90"): Signed on the pickguard on May 3, 1990, at the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego, California.
Jimmie Vaughan: Signed on the pickguard in silver felt tip on February 23, 2008, at U.T. in Austin, Texas.
Robert Cray: Signed on April 14, 2012, at the Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Buddy Guy: Signed on the upper bass bout on May 19, 2012, at the Smith Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The guitar has some modest playwear and a few tiny nicks and dents, but none detract from its overall excellent appearance. An amazing assemblage of Strat-player autographs on one instrument. Hard case included.
On August 25 and 26, 1990, Stevie and his group Double Trouble, on the third leg of their "In Step" concert tour, opened for Eric Clapton at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin. Also on the bill were his brother Jimmie Vaughan, Robert Cray, and Buddy Guy. The second concert featured a jam session with all five; Clapton introduced them as "the best guitar players in the entire world." He wasn't exaggerating. Early the next morning, Stevie boarded a helicopter with three members of Clapton's crew, headed for Miegs Field in Chicago. Seconds later, the chopper crashed into the side of a ski slope killing all aboard. As Jimmie often sings in "Six Strings Down," the tribute song to his brother, "Heaven done called another blues stringer back home."
