Stevie Ray Vaughan Handwritten Lyrics on the Back of a Paul Ray and the Cobras Poster, circa 1975-1977. 11" x 16". 17 lines written in black soft-point ink. Stevie's lyrics for an apparently unrecorded song. The lyrics read in full: ""Got it all together" is the / time to look again. / You'll see you're just a stranger / Just a straw against the wind. / To get it all together the straw / has got to bend. But it seems / It's always breaking & you've got / to start again. / It really is a circle / Never starts and never ends / What a pair we'll make in heaven / What a group its [sic] going to be / When we see no persons, people / Just a smiling you & me / But at least we have begun, / After all this time & space / We've finally just begun." Could the lyrics be about Stevie's future wife Lenora "Lenny" Bailey? Stevie played guitar in Paul Ray and the Cobras from 1975 through most of 1977. The poster has been rolled and has some modest wrinkling and toning to the paper, otherwise the lyrics are bright, legible and in very good condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.
