Star Trek/William Shatner Handwritten and Signed Note About Star Trek Creator Gene Roddenberry. A handwritten note by William Shatner telling tales out of school about Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry. Signed in the bottom right corner. All done with a black ink pen.

Composed on Shatner's personal stationery, he writes in full:

"Roddenberry was up against it - he wasn't making enough money in the early years. So he took every opportunity to enhance his income - he started a company that began to market Star Trek related items one such was clips from light strips - In the days of film (oh so long ago) the cinematographer would get several frames of film from each take - that would happen the next day - he would look them over seeing the color, the density and other exotic things that photographers look for. Then he would throw them away. Not on Star Trek - somebody would gather those strips up, cut them into small frame size - each of them containing an image - usually of us - and Gene would sell them. Out they went by mail to some passionate fan who paid a goodly sum for the privilege. There were many other things he began to market to where his side business made a great deal of money. It was strange - he was selling our image, I don't know whether it was legal or not. I didn't find out about it untill [sic] long after but it was a new one on me."

Single page measures 7.25" x 10.25". In Near Mint condition. LOA by William Shatner. COA from Heritage Auctions.
