Description
Rolling Stones Signed The Rolling Stones- England's Newest Hit Makers Promo LP (London LL3375(DJ), 1964). A rare White Label Promo LP with a "Promotion Copy Not for Sale" sticker on the front. Signed on the back of the album cover by all five original members. There's a great story behind how these autographs were obtained. The consignor's mother, who was working the front desk at the Waldorf Astoria, checked the group into the hotel while they were in New York for their October 25, 1964, appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. They gave her this promo LP and it was signed by everyone but Mick. She gave the album to her son who eventually, with the help of Chuck Leavell, touring keyboardist for the Stones, got Mick Jagger to sign it, thus completing the set of signatures. A signed Letter of Authenticity is included as well as the note to Mick from Leavell asking him to sign the album. Record and sleeve both grade VG-EX 6 (the record exhibits a minor warp not affecting play) A fabulous piece with impeccable provenance.
