Ringo Starr Signed "Love Me Do" Beatles 45 (Parlophone R4949, 1962). The historic first single for the Fab Four, backed with "P.S. I Love You," and released in England on October 5, 1962. There were two recordings of this song made the month before at EMI Studios on Abbey Road. The first recording (September 4) had the newest Beatle, Ringo Starr, on drums. One week later, another recording was made with session musician Andy White on drums and Ringo relegated to tambourine. The Ringo version was used for the single release and he signed this rare first pressing at lower left of the label. This side of the single is clean. The flip side shows evidence of having been glued into someone's scrapbook at some point (likely the fan that originally obtained the signature). A great souvenir of the record that put the Beatles on their way to superstardom. COA from Beatles autograph expert and historian Frank Caiazzo. Condition: GD-VG 4.
