Patsy Cline Six-Page Handwritten Letter. An astounding, six-page letter handwritten by the legendary Country music singer at age 24, dated March 7, 1957, in which she pines away to friend, fan, and fan club president Treva Miller about the love of her life, Charlie Dick. It reads in part: "Dear Treva: Thought I'd drop you a few lines this wet raining blue old night. I'm soo [sic] lonesome & sick at heart I could die. My Charlie left Monday and is in South Carolina now but might go on to Fort Benning, Georgia Monday. I feel like my arms are cut off. Treva, I've never loved a man soo much in my life. He is my life, my world, just my everything." That year was a pivotal one for Cline; she had achieved crossover success with "Walkin' After Midnight," but was unable to follow it up with another hit single. Cline married Dick later that year, and she retreated from music in order to start a family. Her semi-retirement would prove to be short-lived, and in 1958 she began to revive her career, staging a dramatic comeback and achieving the success that eluded her early on. The letter is one of many featured in the 1999 collection Love Always, Patsy: Patsy CLine's Letters to a Friend, and is in Very Fine condition with very mild wear and mailing creases, and is accompanied by the envelope it was mailed in, which was addressed by Cline in blue ink and inscribed "Treva Miller. The Greatest Fan Club President in the Biss." Accompanied by a COA from PSA/DNA.
