Description

Michael McDonald and Bernie Chiaravalle Signed Yamaha AES1500 Guitar, Dubbed "White Fang" by McDonald. An ivory white semi-hollow body guitar, Serial Number S0JH067. It is signed on the upper bass bout by both musicians. Chiaravalle has been McDonald's guitarist and songwriting partner for many years. This instrument was given to him by Yamaha in 1999 and used on tour in the U.S. and Europe. One night, while on tour with Cher in Europe, McDonald drew a sketch of the guitar and named it "White Fang." In Bernie's words: "...Regrettably the guitar was somewhat damaged on a tour a few years later. It was a sad thing because this guitar has a very personal feel for me. Not only did it feel great to play but it brings back lots of great memories. It's since been replaced with a replica supplied by Yamaha (dubbed 'fang jr') that I still use with Michael when we play live. Although it too is a nice guitar, it doesn't have the 'mojo' of the original." The damage mentioned appears to be at the neck/ body joint; it certainly would affect playability but it's still a very attractive and displayable instrument with gold tuners, hardware, and knobs. Originally sold to raise money for World Hunger Year; invoice and papers included. Mojo included free (along with a hard case).
