Love Me Tender Movie Contract Signed by Elvis Presley (1956). For Elvis' first movie, his contract called for a weekly salary of $2,500, for a total of eight weeks work, with a sliding scale for any extensions to the initial eight weeks. This information and more can be found in the lengthy (39 pages plus additional addendum pages, for a total of 43 typed pages) contract. Of particular note are provisions whereby "The Artist hereby grants the Corporation.." options extending access to "...the Artist's exclusive services..." for movie "photoplay" up to an additional 6 years, if each option year is exercised. The first additional option year was worth $2,500 per week, increasing on a sliding scale to $12,500 per week for Elvis' services by the 6th extension year! So, while primarily a contract for the making of Love Me Tender, the Colonel saw to it that this contract could in effect not only launch Elvis' movie career, but keep it going through 1962! The last page is signed by Elvis, Hal Wallis, Joseph Hazen, and Colonel Tom Parker; Elvis, Wallis, and Hazen also initialed the last clause on this page. Each page is in a plastic binder page, housed in a heavy-duty 12.5" x 12.25" three-ring binder. Most pages are in Excellent condition; the signed page does have considerable tack hole damage to the upper left corner, but does not affect the signatures. COAs from the Estate of Elvis Presley at Graceland and from Rick Consola.
