    Description

Hank Williams Sr. and Other Grand Ole Opry Stars Signed Program Book. Now in its 86th year on WSM, the Grand Ole Opry is the oldest continuously-broadcast radio program in the United States, and it continues to be the nation's premier showcase for Country music. This vintage eight-page program book was produced by promoter Oscar Davis (later the manager of Hank Williams) who assembled package shows that sent Opry performers out on tour across the country. Hank Williams was made an Opry member in 1949 but was rather famously stripped of his membership in 1952 after repeated problems caused by his heavy drinking. This program is signed by the now-legendary Hank Williams as well as the entire original classic line-up of his band, The Drifting Cowboys: Don Helms, Jerry Rivers, Bob McNett, and Hillous Butrum (this line-up places the date these signatures were collected circa late-1949). Also included are autographs of famed A-Team guitarist Hank "Sugarfoot" Garland and headliner Cowboy Copas, as well as many more, mostly members of the Copas and Ernest Tubb bands. In Fine to Very Fine condition with covers splitting along spine. Accompanied by James Spence Authentication auction LOA.

    More Information:

Autographs contained in this booklet: Hank Williams and the four members of his Drifting Cowboys (Don Helms, Jerry Rivers, Bob McNett, and Hillous Butrum); several members of the Cowboy Copas band (Copas himself, Hank Garland, Autry Inman, and Bob Foster); members of Ernest Tubb's Texas Troubadours (Billy Byrd, Jack Drake, and Dickie Harris, as well as an autograph of Calvin Tubb); and other performers (comedian Lazy Jim Day, fiddler Merle "Red" Taylor, Arthur "Rusty" Gabbard, and Smokey Swan - half of the duo Radio Dot and Smokey). The photo of Ernest Tubb contains a printed facsimile signature. A great collection of classic honky-tonk autographs, including a scarce complete set of the original Drifting Cowboys' signatures along with their legendary leader, Hank Williams.

The movie quite literally changed my life. I have included a pic of me in Sly's Rocky 3 Cashmere overcoat, would much appreciate if it is possible for you to forward this email to Sly to let him know the overcoat is in good hands, and will be well taken care of, (as will be the Rambo knife forging tools, the other lot I won!) Wish you very happy holidays and a great 2016!
