George Harrison's Sister Louise Signed Letters with Original Beatles Photos and His Guitar String Segment (1964, 1965). George, the youngest of four, had an older sister that moved to Illinois with her husband in the late 1950s. Several months before the Beatles conquered America in 1964, George spent a vacation with his sister at her home. She did everything she could to get the local DJs to play Beatle records and actually succeeded in getting them their first US airplay in June 1963 when a local station played "From Me To You." Offered here are two printed form letters and their transmittal envelopes to an American fan; both have handwritten notes and are signed "Louise Harrison." On the back of one, she lists the songs on which George sang lead. Both are postmarked from Liverpool, one on November 19, 1964, the other February 11, 1965. Included are four B&W snapshot photos (one duplicate) of the Beatles landing at Los Angeles and having a press conference. Each letter had a Beatle glossy promo photo enclosed with it. We note that one of these photos has a 1" long piece of one of George's guitar strings taped to the verso as annotated by her along with another signature: "Love Louise Harrison". All fine or better.
