Frankie Lymon Signed Photograph. Measuring 8.5" x 11" (sight), the fresh-faced lead singer of the 50s doo wop group, The Teenagers, is seen wearing a striped jacket and patterned tie in this chest up sepia toned portrait. Lymon has signed in blue ink in the upper left corner, "'Always' / [signed] Frankie Lymon." Matted to an overall size of 16.5" x 19". Fine.

Lymon (1942-1968) left the group in 1957 to pursue a solo career. Addicted to heroin at the age of 15, he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1965 and remained clean for his three years of service. After his discharge from the army, he was signed to a record deal. He celebrated with heroin and, returning to the habit, died of an overdose at the age of 25.
